it very heavily compressed (i.e. jpeg quality options set quite low), and it shows up in the full view. one can see blocks and distortion etc

thats not the quality of the jpeg. thats little specs of grunge all over the image. unless you do have a problem with the resolution on your comp. i can tell you everything was maxed for this picture.

nope, seriously... at least, the version on deviantart is quite bad: which makes sense when one compares the file size to the image size. Zoom in, you'll see it ;P
